We must take on the press and call them to account. A phone call to the news director of a radio station or the the ombudsman of a newspaper will get you a conversation with a real person. I believe that we are motivated enough now to turn the tide of their free ride as an arm of the dem party.

This has to be done in every city and town, with every newspaper, radio and TV station by every freeper who cares about this. And every freeper who cares has to get their friends and family members to help in the same manner. This way the effort will act as a pyramid scheme and really grow!! It can be accomplished in this manner. The media is A Beast and Hillary is The Beast. And after Kerry is sailing alomg, the (Clinton inspired) media will blow him out of the water with what is in the thread "What You Don't Know About John Kerry". Then after Kerry is diminished, Hillary can walk in to save the day. We'll see.

The same Mario Cuomo that sought to flip electors after the 2000 election? What a surprise.

This man is no longer able to disguise his hatred for this country.

Horse Hockey.

The mainstream media was far more powerful in 1972 and 1984 than they are now. There wasn't Fox News or the Internet. We were all slaves to ABC, NBC, CBS, The NY Times and the Washington Post.

The mainstream media hated Nixon and Reagan. In fact, I think the mainstream media hated Nixon more than they do Dubya now.

If this allegedly powerful mainstream media will decide the election this year, how is it that they delevered a grand total of two states to Mondale and McGovern in 1984 and 1972?

There is a reason FOX is kicking the crap out of CNN, the networks are losing viewers and the NY Slimes is now the butt of jokes. Most Americans see these mainstream media types for what they are -- out of the mainstream!

They don't scare me one bit, and I doubt Karl Rove is losing any sleep over whether Dan Rather likes Dubya or not. (Dan Rather is still smarting over that beating Dubya's old man gave him in 1988).

If you are looking for the most powerful, dangerous, and relentlessly destructive institution in the country, look no further than LIBERAL ACTIVIST JUDGES AND JUSTICES!! THEY actually HAVE power, and they are willing to abuse it any way they can.

THAT is what we need to worry about, not has-been anchors, scandalized newspapers or Ted Turner's network.

The Dems have lost their minds.

And on national television leftist leader Pelosi is promising the poor that Superman will save them from preferred treatment allotted to the chosen ones.

Those who say Hillary can't run because of a), b) or c), have not been studying both the media and the beast.

Dean only ever had the backing of the noisy, Ramsay Clark and Medea Benjamin-inspired kook protesters. The media, out of ignorance or willful deception, saw this group as a majority.

The same authorities will be oh. so surprised when H rides in to save the Dem party, and there will be such a full court media blitz (to mix my sports metaphors) to proclaim her election as inevitable and "good for the country."

NEVER underestimate the perfidy of this woman. We must be ready for this eventuality.

Don't worry about me underestimating her. But there are thousands, even on this site, who are walking aroung in a fog on the subject, and November may be a huge drag to them if they don't wake up!

Asked to explain his claim that President Bush had dealings with the bin Ladens, Cuomo cited a New York Times report that noted that both Bush's father and members of bin Laden's family belonged to the Carlyle Group, a global investment company.

And, of course, he cites an unimpeachable source.

The mainstream media was far more powerful in 1972 and 1984 than they are now.----media doesn't have to be so all-encompassing now, people are dumber now!

There wasn't Fox News or the Internet. We were all slaves to ABC, NBC, CBS, The NY Times and the Washington Post.-----Still not nearly enough media on the right side.

The mainstream media hated Nixon and Reagan. In fact, I think the mainstream media hated Nixon more than they do Dubya now.----media are not so obvious about it now, people are dunber now.

If this allegedly powerful mainstream media will decide the election this year, how is it that they delevered a grand total of two states to Mondale and McGovern in 1984 and 1972? -----media doesn't have to be so all-encompassing now, people were smarter then.

There is a reason FOX is kicking the crap out of CNN, the networks are losing viewers and the NY Slimes is now the butt of jokes. Most Americans see these mainstream media types for what they are -- out of the mainstream! ---Wrong! FoxNews is kicking ass, networks are losing viewers, BUT MOST AMERICANS DO NOT see the mainstream media for what it is. There are still 25 times as many people getting their evening news from ABC, NBC, and SeeBS over FoxNews! Get real! You know nothing of the numbers.

If you are looking for the most powerful, dangerous, and relentlessly destructive institution in the country, look no further than LIBERAL ACTIVIST JUDGES AND JUSTICES!! THEY actually HAVE power, and they are willing to abuse it any way they can. ---Judges are horribly destructive too. You're right. They're tied for first. But, do you think MOST Americans know they are destructive? Well they don't.

Maybe you should get a load of Leno's "Jaywalking" if you want to see an example or two of who you are trusting to be hip and not fooled by the media's influence! Or are you one of the Jaywalkers?

You just keep thinking everyone is getting the message. You may get what you deserve in November.

In the future, do not copy my name into your mass replies to people who are not on the thread, newbie.

Your answer to every point that people are dumber now is puerile and trite. Free Republic attracts a higher level of thought then that. If you can't keep up to those standards, go someplace else.

Don't go away mad --- just go away.

If Cuomo bothered to do some 'Net surfing before making his pronouncement, he could have had a great conspiracy theory to discuss. The Carlyle Group's website lists the members of its various advisory boards, which include: British prime minister John Major, Bush/Reagan associates James Baker and Frank Carlucci, and former GOP senator Alan Simpson.

But using Cuomo's insane reasoning could also implicate Tom Foley as a co-conspirator of bin Laden's since he, too, sits on an advisory board.

Asked to explain his claim that President Bush had dealings with the bin Ladens, Cuomo cited a New York Times report that noted that both Bush's father and members of bin Laden's family belonged to the Carlyle Group, a global investment company.

"The story astonished me," Cuomo said. "There's no question that Osama bin Laden's family was invested in Carlyle, Carlyle was invested in Mideast oil and everybody knows it. And so was the first president Bush."

I'm glad you found this article. It will be great fodder for my next rant to my local newspaper, showing how stupid, paranoid, and dishonest the Dems truly are.

First, "belonging to" (I guess Cuomo takes the Socialist Democrat view that companies are evil and "own" their slave-employees) and "investing in" are two completely different things. Secondly, considering the privacy shields these companies put up to protect the identity and assets of their investors, I seriously doubt if George H.W. Bush could have known that the bin Laden family had invested in Carlyle as well. Could Cuomo truly be this stupid, or is he misunderestimating the intelligence of the public?

Your sophomoric response proves the issue.

If you have no interest in closing the power of the media, you should be silent.

I would have thought better of you.

I was only responding to your less than intelligent post, #124. Lighten up please.

If you cannot deal with the particulars of my response, then that is certainly understandable, 'oldbie'.

You may need a clue or three.

They have nothing substantial or genuine to offer, so their only recourse is to lie, disort the Administration's record, and the news, and then call names.

&&
Bingo! You've read their playbook.
