California heating up?
Posted on 01/21/2004 1:56:19 PM PST by LittleJoe
I live in the Sierras about 100 miles north of Sacramento. The water from my well has turned hot. The county inspector just left. He said he has been inspecting wells in this county for over twenty years and this is the first time he has seen this happen!
Anyone else have water turning hot? This is really weird!

And the interesting thing, according to the "locals", it's pronounced "Boy-See", not "BoyZee".

Hey Californios! The end is near! Run for your lives! Keep a close eye on nearby volcanos and especially Mammoth Mountain. The yuppies have built condos in the Mammoth caldera. Now, that takes mega stupidity and merits a large-scale Darwin Award before they fry there. The CA volcanos are about to go live and will be more deadly than a dozen Mt. St. Helens. How do I know this? My local vulcanologist said so and he's right at least 52% of the time.

Shrillery spews lava all the time.
Farts sulpher, too.
Her underwear doesn't have skid-marks but holes with burnt rims.
To top it off, she thinks it's due to her being "hot stuff." Reno must tell her some hum-dinger lies!

You have any colleagues near him in your professional network?
I think it's fascinating, too. Having lived through Spokane's experience of Mt St Helen, it's a bit more than academic, to me.
The San Francisco Peaks are not as far away from me now as Mt St Helen's was, then. Thankfully, they are not showing any signs of erupting again--that I nkow of--but I still expect them to in my lifetime. There has always been a hot spot on them and pretty high up, at that.

Quix, where are the San Francisco Peaks?

Your report is more in keeping with what I understood even 30 years ago. I suspect it has greatly increased since then.
And, no, it won't be inconsequential. IMhO, it WILL BE OF SERIOUS CONSEQUENCE at some point in our lifetime--likely before 2015 most predictors seem to be betting.

PLEASE avoid that eventuality!
I still remember soberly those lost at Mt St Helens.
There are better things to die for than an unfeeling volcano.

Not a geologist . . . but that rise in water table . . .
from my layman's reading . . . is not insignificant.

Cheer up dude! Soon you'll have ocean front property (assuming you survive)!

I agree. We need a geologists ping.
We are going to need them increasingly in coming months and years. Some think something unusual and significant geologically is going to occur this year. What and where is a whole 'nother issue.

Phoenix and possibly Denver are supposed to become beachfront.
Of course, when the New Madrid goes, the Gulf of Mexico will reach the former Great Lakes . . . so the beaches will evidently move East and West uhhhh and North.
Now what does that do to all the Reptilian's deep tunnels and caverns?

Build a bomb and throw it into the well. I think that worked on Gilligan's Island. No, that was what Gilligan threw into the head (toilet) on the Minnow (or was it something the Skipper ate?)!

Thanks for that. Notice that line runs from Yellowstone to Mono Lake, the site of another enormous prehistoric supervolcano. I hope these supervolcanos are things that give off little tell-tale signs for a thousand years before they blow. And even then I don't know how N. America could possibly get ready for something like that. They're too darned devastating.
To: RightWhale
VERY FASCINATING.
For some odd reason, I personally expected such a thing but have NEVER ran across any hint of any evidence of it until your post. You have a link?
THANKS TONS!
