[history]
The Bush administration's proposal to offer amnesty to illegal immigrant workers has prompted federal officials to instruct border patrol agents not to disclose information that might reflect poorly on the idea, a government document shows.
Meanwhile, U.S. border patrol agents have been told to ask a series of questions when they capture illegal immigrants, including whether the immigrants have heard of President George W. Bush's proposal.

"... to instruct border patrol agents not to disclose information that might reflect poorly on the idea, a government document shows."
I don't get it. Bush will not win an election if he thinks we are for illegal anything coming into this country.

Have you guys seen or heard of this memo? Not until this morning. Weve heard rumors coming out of Mexico that there will be a rush because of Bushs amnesty plan (and yes, that is what the Mexicans are calling it. The Mexicans know amnesty when they see it).
Do not provide statistics on apprehension spikes
LOL, Ill have those spikes posted as soon as the stats are available.

However, it is true the some agents have been assigned the task of interviewing aliens to see if they crossed illegally because of the new amnesty. Gosh, no one would have expected that. Makes me wonder if Bush is not begining to crack just a bit on this wonderful scamnesty deal. We might have just seen them blink.

Well on another thread I was accused of trying to stiffle debate by a supporter of this proposal, I wonder what they would call this from the administration? We have no constitution, it's been rendered null and void.
Then since it's the constitution that is the source of legitimacy for our government and laws, we now have neither, just the residue of a political experiment of governance in which we can take pride for having mostly lasted for some 210-plus years, more or less- but which is now effectively no more legitimate trhan the former Soviet Union.
Accordingly, it's time for y'all to consider alternatives. I reckon the Texas Republic is back in business again....

Does Pearce have a campaign going, and if so where do you send your money in support of him?
To: Itzlzha
border agents are "not to talk about amnesty, an increase in apprehensions, or give comparisons of past immigration reform proposals" when talking with the media.

Does Pearce have a campaign going, and if so where do you send your money in support of him? As far as I know, he is just thinking about running against Flake.
I'll E-Mail someone and find out and then get back to you.

Here is the reply I got:
"Russell Pearce will only run if lots of people puts lots of pressure on him. He needs to be called and Emailed every day, especially now, with sincere pledges of money and campaign workers. Please help me pull this off--2 more years of Jeff Flake will do Arizona in, if not the entire country. Stan Barnes is clearly a Karl Rove set-up to keep Russell from filing."

We would not want those sworn to enforce our immigration laws to blow the whistle on a plan that would make their jobs impossible. Thanks for your consideration of our Homeland Security personnel and their duty to America First, Jorge W. Bush! <sarcasm

Its an amnesty and the only reason the President had to say otherwise last night was he would be run off the rails from out of D.C if he openly endorsed amnesty. Same for the rest of the out of touch political class there. This isn't a partisan issue; 83% of us oppose illegal immigration and we're getting frustrated no cares or appears to be listening to what we, the American people, think on the subject.

WHY should our banks and lending institutions that have been so anxious to extend them credit and loans to buy their fancy new cars be inconvenienced.
WHY should the local community colleges and universities and the liberal SLACKademics within, that have so warmly recruited and accepted Illegals in the name of D-I-V-E-R-S-I-T-Y, Comrade, why should they be forced to sacrifice their numbers?
WHY should all the Poverty-Pimp Social Workers who benefit from pumping up their numbers with Illegals, thus justifying a higher budget/increased job rating, WHY should they have to actually (GASP -- SHUDDER) cut back in their social programs/size of goobermit, before they get their 20 in before retirement?
My stomach's upset now ... anybody else care to add a few more WHYs ??

So this scamnesty is for Mexicans only? Wait until the Central American nations here this!! After all, 20-25% of El Salvador lives in the USA with most in the LA area
BTW> Many illegal Brazilians are here. I see reports of them entering via the Mexican border. They love it in Massachussetts. I knew a few and they were good people but illegal as heck.
