Let me just stick my nose in your discussion and say that I agree with MUCH of what you said Arne.

The vitriol and vile hatred for Bush by the chest thumping keyboard 'macho men' that have OVERTAKEN FR lately, is most likely more offensive to women than to men, given our innate, God-given sensitivities.

I know a whole lot of strong, intelligent, educated, articulate women who won't come NEAR most threads because almost every one has been hijacked by these Johnny One Note nasties, and it's just not worth it.

I, on the other hand occasionally get in the mood to take these morons on, and reveal to the world the vacancies in their brains where logic is meant to dwell..........

The crypto-racist posts related to immigration reform are the natural outgrowth of the incessant anti-Muslim posts which have become rampant on the forum. If we are allowed to be bigoted against one group then what's so wrong with being bigoted against another? Again, it's a manifestation of 'tribal justice' whereby if a member of one group does something wrong against a member of our group, then they are all guilty and can all be villified, which is always corrupt and unjust. Tribal justice is the antithesis of conservatism, which judges each and every person on their own individual merits.

The forum cannot expect to succeed in rooting out corruption in our government when it tolerates the cruel encouragement of the corruption in people.

THANK YOU! You said it quite well. Although I don't entirely agree that only woman are turned off by the bad attitudes of a lot of posters in regard to the SOTU and Bush, I appreciate your well spoken sentiment - keep being feisty. These folks who want 100% agreement with the Commander in Chief all of the time are missing the point, we need to win the big issues and compromise in some situations, this is a representative democracy. There are more opinions to be represented then those of these grumps. I am all for Bush and would hate to see these babies undermine a sweeping victory by Bush this year just because he did not espouse one particular issue. Uggh, what crybabies.
