I'd love for womeone to ask her how much it would cost to open every container that comes into the country.

Don't have to open them. We have the xray technology to do it, had it since the late 80's. It was voted down by a congressional committee in 1990 in secret, when it was first proposed. Technology is still around and being used. Entire cost can be covered by a container inspection fee, partially offset by less time required to get the containers through the port. Course, now we have to worry about inspecting them offshore to prevent the wmds from getting offloaded AT the port.

We currently are doing that.

we could scan every package entering the US looking for a bomb....

or we could simply kill the people who wanna bring bombs into the US...

That must be one hell of a conveyor belt that they have to send the containers through. Probably a 400kV tube too. I sure wouldn't want to stand near one when it's in operation.
