Well, let's see. It is the best I can remember since Reagan, and nearly perfect, except for "I oppose amnesty...[but]..."

Have to agree on all points.. The second half had a lot of pandering, but the first half was a home run.

I'm generally pleased, but I would really, really be leaning on Drier to make sure some of the more, umm, less conservative things get squashed.

I agree. Many people look at an incredibly complex issue and truly believe that they can solve it with a one liner. I just wish, it was that simple. I am always reminded that an action is met with a reaction, the penduluum always swings, cause and effect, etc., etc.
Health care, Retirement, employment/unemployment and even Immigration are issues that need to be looked at not with emotion, but with careful planning. I am ultra conservative, however some of the silly thoughtless comments do concern me sometimes.

I didnt like the spending, but overall found GW's Message to ring true:

It is up to YOU as Americans to make things work! IT IS YOUR LIFE! Sacrifices will have to be made, but they will serve us well in the end.

He didnt summize it as well as JFK..but the entire speech basically said "Ask not, what your country can do for you!, But what YOU can do for your country!"
