CAIR is already suing everyone in sight for defamation any time something is said or written they don't like.
It will start with hate speech crimes for those who oppose homosexuality on religious grounds. It might spread to speaking against Islam. Regardless, its coming here, in our lifetime, and Christians must stop fighting each other and unite to support and pray for each other in the dark times enveloping us.
People are already getting punished for hate speech in this country. Furthermore, it doesn't even have to be hateful, just political speech that someone doesn't like. I read a couple of weeks ago that the Secret Service arrested a man who wouldn't move off a quarter mile from where Bush was set to speak (the man was carrying a sign objecting to some Bush policy). It wasn't a security issue. The Secret Service told him flat out that it just didn't like the message on his sign.
The man refused to move. The police arrested him. He was convicted and fined. The judge said he wasn't going to second guess the Secret Service. I say "why not?", especially when the Secret Service is abridging our constitutional right to voice our complaints to any public official, including even the president.
