He should at least get some credit for taking down Dean with those tough ads he's run in the last week. I guess he scored one for the establishment!

Gephart won't leave the House, just the campaign trail. Don't be so sure... He took a lot of heat when they had a miserable election year in 2002, and was replaced by a plastic dingbat who is in over her head. It just doesn't get any worse than that. I think this guy will go the way of Tom Foley, Jim Wright and Dan Rostenkowski.

Gephardt is the ranking Dem in the House. I'd be surprised if he leaves. That's just too much power to give up.
Also, he knows early that he's out of the presidential race. He can run a strong house campaign.
The only thing: something nagging in my memory about him saying he was quitting. Does anyone remember something like that from last year?
