McCain got 4% in the 2000 Iowa caucuses, then went on to romp in New Hampshire, then was beaten in South Carolina. The "he's finished" instant punditry is often wrong.

The "he's finished" instant punditry is often wrong.The only one that I think is really done at this point is Gephardt. He put the entire wad on Iowa, and lost his shirt. And now, according to Fox, he's changed his plans and will be flying back to Missouri. I expect he'll annouce he's quitting before week's end.
