It's just a hunch, but I suspect his angrily shouting down the Republican fellow who posed a question to him lost him five to 10 points or more. The question was pointed, but not disrespectful. At some level, even some 'rats dislike the spectacle of a powerful 'Rat banging on an ordinary joe.
