Just heard on the local DSM station that the union dominated precincts have already reported. If Gep is this low with them, he is toast.

Toast, indeed. If Gephardt can't do well in Iowa, for pete's sake, how's he going to do in a real state?

Dean's numbers may improve if the the college campus precincts haven't reported yet, but we already know the general outcome of tonight.

The Iowa Caucuses don't really mean much in the long run. It's a weird way of gauging support, and it doesn't attract people who like voting in private.

The really good news for America is that union support means zilch. It split between Dean and Gephardt. Ha ha.

So much for that.

Edwards is a big surprise here in Iowa, but he's not going to do well in NH, and he'll be lucky to be considered for VP. I don't think this showing means anything other than he'll get a few days of media coverage before the next big story comes along.
