MOSCOW - Today an anti-Putin coalition Committee-2008 creation is expected to be announced. This organization, created and promoted for the most part by Union of Right Forces (SPS) party, sets an objective of making a civil citizen the next president of Russia, not Vladimir Putin heir, as one of its founders, Boris Nemtsov, SPS party leader, explained. The president of the new coalition is Garry Kasparov, a famous chess-player. Many well-known journalists are among its members, like Eugeny Kiselev and Viktor Shenderovich.
The minimum objective of the Committee-2008 is survival of democrats and politicians as one of the members formulated, and maximum is making Russia democratic after Putin, according to Boris Nemtsov. The participants main concern is what Russia will become after Putin, and they are going to fight for Constitution non-changeability, free and transparent elections, as well to get ready to compete at elections 2008 with the current president successor, Kommersant reports.
Garry Kasparov has not commented yet on his new position, but he already tried to go in for politics before and in 1996 supported the late general Alexander Lebed in his movement The third force, which gained no success in 2000.
Yabloko party members were not invited to join the new structure. One of Yabloko leaders Sergey Mitrokhin comments that main objective for democratic forces now is participation in regional elections, and he sees no need in an additional democratic structure, as many already exist.
Private citizen, Oligarch puppet (as Putin was to be) which ever...
Yeah, they might need some preparation, considering the spectacular failure to develop a non-Putin alternative for this year's election.
