When the raid was over, three men were dead, a Syrian and two Yemenis. Two of the men were shot trying to escape; the other blew himself up in the front yard. Inside the house, U.S. troops found a weapons cache. And AP calls this a "slaying". Give me a break.

When one checks AP stringer reports from Iraq one finds that reporters themselves are either Wester anti-Americans, Muslim, or both.

"This is not jihad. This is terrorism," another neighbor, Fadi Jamal, 18, said. "They are killing Iraqis. We don't need Arabs in our midst."
If he said that on the BBC, he would have got fired.

This is typical. You will find a lot of different Arbas as fighters in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Bosnia, KosovO, Macedonia and anywhere where they are fighting for allah.

But witnesses and Iraqi police described how Iraqi civilians, increasingly frustrated with guerrilla violence, are cooperating with the U.S.-led coalition to catch suspected rebels. These foreigners are acting like dogs in a manger; they are trying to prevent the Iraqis from enjoying a free and prosperous society, while claiming that there are "resistance" members fighting the "evil" Americans.

"Had I known who they were, I would have turned them in myself," said Almas Zia Youssef, 24, standing with curious onlookers outside the house where her neighbors were killed at dawn. Now that's what I call progress.

So, the AP is saying that our boys murdered them. I guess AP is competing with Reuters for the Sucking Up to Terrorists Media Award, which is a car bomb delivered to corporate HQ.

Residents Say They Will Not Tolerate Foreign Insurgents in Their Midst
Iraqi civilians, increasingly frustrated with guerrilla violence, are cooperating with the U.S.-led coalition to catch suspected rebels.
U.S. officers say, more Iraqi civilians are coming forward with information about roadside bombs, planned attacks and guerrillas
"We were liberated from oppression that lasted for 35 years," said a neighbor, Bilal Ibrahim, 20, referring to the ouster of Saddam. "No jihad (holy war) or resistance is needed at all."
"This is not jihad. This is terrorism," another neighbor, Fadi Jamal, 18, said. "They are killing Iraqis. We don't need Arabs in our midst."

And AP calls this a "slaying". Give me a break. And what did David do to Goliath? "Slay", "kill", even "homicide", do not imply guilt. It is the taking of a life. In this case it seems, quite appropriately. Now if AP had said murder or execute, I would be steaming right along with you...
(I always found it was quite inspirational to the L-Ts to encourage them to "hone their skill in slaying the enemy". I believed it brought about the required visualization of kill or be killed.) War is an ugly business, even uglier if you lose.
