Awwwww.....HUGS dansy! I kinda understand. My only daughter just started college, which I always thought I wanted her to do. The bad news is, she's decided to major in sociology. My biggest concern is that she really doesn't like to think for herself too much. She will be online soon though, so I hope I can hook her up with some less political segments of FR....like the Hobbit Hole....where fellow conservatives can encourage her in the right direction. A mom's ranting encouragement only goes so far. They will recover. We just have to trust in that.

Thank you for those words of encouragement. I wish you all the best in gently guiding your daughter in the right direction. It sounds like you are going about things in a logical and worthwhile way.

As to steering my daughter towards DU, I'm only afraid that would encourage her. She has been a radical her entire life - precocious at an early age (IQ up in the stratosphere) and always championing the underdog. Which is fine - to a certain extent. She has taken it to the extreme and unless she has a life-altering experience (as I did - long story that I have incorporated into a novel), she may never see the error of her ways.

Meanwhile, I will keep praying up a storm that she comes around. My s-i-l, on the other hand, I feel has potential. But, he's afraid to contradict her - LOL. She definitely wears the pants in the family.

Love ya, (((((SL))))) - thank you.

That's easy. Forbid her to look on FreeRepublic. She'll spend every waking hour outside of studying surfing on here.
