DO you realize that had Carter won re-election, the orders had already been given for the Soviet Union to invade West Germany?Source please.
Not that I doubt that Carter might well have encouraged such thinking on the part of the Soviets. He'd have shaken his finger at them and pulled out of the next Olympics.
But I sure would like a source.

The comments in this piece make me sick! A good ambassador? spokesman for america? In whatever forum, Clinton is an embarrassment to all moral Americans. He evaded our justice system, has made a mockery out of religion, -- I could go on and on. I wish he'd just sit down and shut up.
Who were those brain dead Senators who thought that allowing him to serve out his term would do less harm than impeaching him?
To: MegaSilver
You too?
Queried about his position on Iraq, he stated that any disagreements he might have would be most appropriately expressed at home in the U.S., not before a foreign audience.

AAwhh, Geez... this is gonna sound lame:
I think I saw it in the Reader's Digest about 10-13 years ago. I was still in college... shortly after, I discussed it with ROTC types who had read similar stories in other sources.

...hearing our former president chatter for checks .
Who's paying for Billy's trip & what was his speeking fee?
To: Jim Cane
I agree. If we can just keep Clinton offshore, it will be better for the U.S. The farther the better.
Well, since the Rover is now exploring Mars 'on the ground', we will need an Ambassador stationed there.

We all know that Bill Clinton can speak persuasively, of courseIf one is likely to be sold a used car with no wheels thinking that once the check is signed one can drive it off the lot ........ then yes, one would think he is a very persuasive speaker.

It's all in what the comparison is. Jimmy Carter is a better Ex President than he was a President. Now that doesn't mean he is a good ex president (In fact he's a bad Ex President, but for those of us who remember, he was a "horrible" President.

With art and ardor, he scolded the crowdYeah, that's his M.O. I'll never forget watching him point his finger at the American public in a chastising way, with those infamous words..."I did not have sex with that woman!"
I was hoping the SlickMan would spend his post-pres. years playing golf and chasing women. I guess he got his fill of that during his years in office.

"He just may have been too intelligent to be an effective executive."
I think he means "chief" executive. Intelligence is one of the prerequisites for what makes a great CEO, not so much being a "salesman"...leave that to the marketing and/or aquisitions and mergers department (state dept.). But still, at least he wasn't bashing the US as usual.

"As soon as he took the podium, Clinton began taking stands as brave as they were necessary. With virtuoso skill, he led the audience where they needed to go - while convincing them it was where they had wanted to end up all along.
His sense not only of what required saying, but of how best to express it to that complex, contrary audience was almost supernatural."It was supenatural! Get Slick to show you the "666" tattoo on his head sometime.

What, we haven't stolen all the elections since Carter, foiled only twice by Clinton?
I'm sooooo confuuuuuuused..... ;-)
I too would like a source on the allegation about the Soviets. I'm not sure that the Soviets would have wanted to take on any more Germans, especially not Germans spoiled by Western wealth. They were crazy, not stupid....

Asked by an eager-to-Bush-bash delegate if he, Bill Clinton, would have behaved differently after 9/11, our former president said he would have followed an identical course, pursuing our enemies into Afghanistan and beyond. He would have gone into Afghanistan because the polls would have shown support, it WOULD HAVE STOPPED THERE because, had Clinton seen the nexus between Iraq and the overall danger to our country from terror, HE WOULD HAVE DEALT WITH IT before leaving office.
We'd still have North Korean, Lybian and Iranian WMD programs at full throttle, not to mention Saddam planning a (another?)clandestine strike on US soil, IMHO.
Yeah, right. He agreed with Bush every step of the way, huh. If he had just SHUT his mouth, Bush would have had less trouble doing the things that needed to be done to make us safer!
