Well, Danny White just was not a top-level NFL QB. He very nearly won the "Catch" game before (as I recall) a fumble on the last minute drive that would have given Dallas a winning FG. If I had to compare them, I'd say Danny White was about 30% of Dallas' offense back then, whereas McNabb is expected to be about 70% of Philly's O.
