GOP PRIMARY PROTEST VOTE
e-mail from Citizens Lobby | 1/18/2004 | Unknown

Posted on 01/19/2004 6:17:00 AM PST by JimRed

If your state is holding a "primary" vote for the Republican candidate for president, Citizens Lobby strongly urges you to cast a "blank" ballot -- OR write in a candidate of your choice.

We recommend Tom Tancredo, Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan or Alan Keyes...

President Bush needs a wake call and your vote is a great way to send him a message.

I was thinking about this myself, but didn't want to start a vanity thread about it; then I got the e-mail.

I can't see what good a blank ballot will do, but a substantial number of votes for someone perceived as a true conservative should send a clear message.

Are you voting in the Wisconsin Dem Primary Feb 17th?

If yes who are you voting for?

I am trying to decide if I want to vote for Howard Dean, or if it is more important to vote for one of the Repub Senate candidates. (I am still unsure which of the Repubs I prefer to go against Feingold. I just want him OUT and can't decide who is the biggest threat to him)

If I want to throw away my vote, I'm gonna cross over and vote for Al Sharpton.

I think this would actually play into the hands of the media liberals who would spin it mercilessly against the president.

Here's a prediction for you: The winner of the 2004 Presidential Election will be either the DemocRat or the Republican candidate. I say that with near 100% certainty.

I thought of voting for Dean, but given that I haven't tripped over any candidates yet (Clark is showing his 1 minute commercial here, but no one's showed up at my door), I haven't decided. Might be Dean, might be Clark, might be Edwards. I'll see how things shake out in NH & SC first--I mean I don't want to commit to voting for a candidate if he's not going to be in the race (Kuchinich).

I would like to vote in the R primary, but it's just more trouble for the Dems if I cross over. I know it gives them fits. But my hubby will vote in the R primary. And I don't know who he's voting for yet.

A question that has kind of troubled me for some time - was Alan Keyes ever offered a post in the Bush Administration, or if it was, did the refusal come from Dr. Keyes? And in that event, what was his stated reason?

Can you tell me what percentage of votes Pat Buchanan, Alan Keyes, and the other "true conservatives" received in the 2000 primaries? (i.e., what chance do you have of getting "a substantial number of votes" in protest?)

I'd vote for Osama Ban Laden before I'd vote for Pat Buchanan.

I don't think Bush ever said he would offer a post to Alan. I can't see what good that would have done him. Alan is a very unstable man.

Keyes didn't endorse Bush until the eve of the Republican convention.

In addition, eight months after Bush's inauguration, Keyes said that Bush perpetrated evil in his stem-cell decision.

Keyes hates Bush, and Bush knows it.

Why on earth would Bush offer him a job?

I'm sure Bush and Rove were behind Keyes getting canned from MSNBC.

Stupid waste of time. Send Bush an email, call or pen a letter to him. Other than that... hold your nose. The alternative to Bush in 2004 is a hell I don't wan't to go through again. Got it?!
