If your state is holding a "primary" vote for the Republican candidate for president, Citizens Lobby strongly urges you to cast a "blank" ballot -- OR write in a candidate of your choice.
We recommend Tom Tancredo, Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan or Alan Keyes...
President Bush needs a wake call and your vote is a great way to send him a message.

majority of the electorate voted for either Al Gore... Nah, the reported totals just said they did. We've yet to figure out how many dead people, dogs and cats, and goldfish voted. ;-) (Voting machine in my trunk??? Hey, how'd that get there?!?!?!?!?)
I know what you mean, but what we are talking about here is what is left to do by the electorate who doesn't want what the D's and R's are doing, albeit they don't want the D's A LOT more than they don't want the R's.
They could vote the R's no matter what, but then the R's would have absolutely no reason to pay any attention to these people, as long as the R's knew these people will continue to vote for R's no matter what.
As to what I think that shows? Hopefully not that people really felt that way deep down, but that that people were asleep at the switch before 9/11.

I don't think I will argue Bush's position on foreign policy, although I wish he would vocally support Taiwan and let Israel fight its own war on terror and expose the fraud of the Saudis and start to scale down US tax-dollars for UN and stop funding third world dictators in Africa. Well, actually come to think of it, I don't really agree with his foreign policy as well. Anyways, while I will give him a B in foreign policy, he clearly gets an F in fiscal and domestic front. That is where he will lose support of conservatives.

How is that different from any other politician? He at least has guts. He successfully cut off aid to UNESCO or UNICEF, wherever he was an ambassador to. He is unpredictable but he has principles. If you follow his principles, you will figure out that he is not that unpredictable. Keyes has accomplished a lot more personally coming from extremely humble background than Bush ever could.

Your "reasoning" is exactly the thing that is coming close to convincing me to NOT show up in the polling place this November.
The ironic thing is, if many conservatives react the same way, you'll blame US for President Bush' loss, if he loses, rather than yourself. You'll never see that you, and others like you, are a significant part of the reason for this exodus.
I don't want him to lose, but I do want him to back off on certain non-conservative policies and positions. But because you tend to ascribe bad motives to people who disagree with you, you'll never see that.

You must have a lot of time standing in the corner facing the wall.

In 1984 I supported Buchanan as a protest vote. I won't be doing it again.1984 ---> 1992.

And deny me the fun of crossing over and voting for the worst Dem? In THIS election that would make for the decision of the century! LoL's

Dead people and dogs (and illegals) only vote in tight races. They don't add up to large national totals.

you'll blame US for President Bush' loss, if he loses, rather than yourselfWho do you suggest we blame? If you don't vote for him -- while you're claiming to be a conservative that cares about this country -- and a Democrat wins, who should we blame?
You all are under the impression that ALL conservatives agree with you all and, if they don't, they couldn't possibly be conservatives.
Are you stating that the "real conservative" position in this election is to hand it over to the Democrats just because you don't like every single thing Bush has done?

All my life. I rather stand for principles than popularity.
To: FirstPrinciple
He is unpredictable but he has principles. Keyes refused to support the post election battle in 2000.
IMV, both morally and politically he was wrong to do that.
To: ClintonBeGone
What you do with these 'protestors' is you treat them like the children they are. You stick 'em in the corner, tell 'em to shut up and deny them the attention they crave. After a period of time they'll show up for dinner. They always do.
You have a counterintuitive definition of "always:" 33% of the Presidential elections since 1990.

Why do people persist in assuming that Republicans are zombies who mindlessly "go along" with whatever the Republican platform is? The funniest part of that is that while they are denigrading US for voting for Bush, they are demanding that "real conservatives," i.e., not us.....LOL.....march in lockstep with them!

The losing candidate should bear the blame, if he loses votes that were his to lose. For example, I blame President Bush 41 for losing votes to Perot and the election to Clinton in 1992, and I voted to re-elect him, depite his lackluster, loser campaign. Polticians, even Bushes, have no birthright to office or votes.
