Blame it on America-France’s ongoing pathological hatred of all things American

Hey, we in the US get some fits of 'Blame Mexico' and 'Blame Canada', but this is just a case of sour grapes. The French are finally realizing that the world just doesn't care what they say anymore, so they've stopped saying anything. They're the Howard Dean of the world - they've reinvented themselves to bask in the hatred of American success.

Just like Howard Dean, eventually people will tire of it, and they'll go back to their irrelevance. Well, that, and while their politicians are helpfully drumming up national hatred, the people aren't noticing how the drug dealers have free reign, and how huge numbers of national visitors aren't there to be immigrants, but instead found new mini-countries.

I'm just shocked that anyone in France found time enough to protest the scarves, but I guess you gotta take a breath between screams at us.

France lost more people in the heat wave this summer than have died on all sides in the Global War On Terrorism.

More than ten times as man Frenchmen and -women died, to put it another way, because of France's third-world health system, than died in Osama's attack on the USA. You know, the one that they don't believe in.

While Dominique de Villepin was speaking against the US in the United Nations in 2002, he and his countrymen were selling the Iraqis French Roland, Milan and Exocet missiles for hard cash. Fortunately, the missiles are crap.

Then there's the demographic question. We think WE have an immigration problem. France is about one generation from being the Islamic Emirate of Frangistan. The French people, led by their new Muslim immigrants, have resumed their pre-WWII place at the pinnacle of world anti-Semitism.

It's a nation that among its other stellar non-achievements, hasn't even made a decent car since Ettore Bugatti kicked the bucket -- and like that other famous Frenchman, Napoleon Bonaparte, he wasn't actually French.

Clearly they are suffering... probably the effect of inbreeding depression in the gene pool, caused by too many years since the last German occupation refreshed same.

Yes sure it was to destabilize Air France, in what sense that our government takes precaution against those who want to be future suicide maniacs. They should be more concerned about their own safety and stop being selfish thinking that because they are French there are immune to terrorist attacks. I find this article offending.

My niece got back yesterday from spending a semester in France attending college. It's worse . . . far, far, far worse . . . than this article says it is, at least based on her experiences.

She's a beautiful, intelligent, easy-going young lady. Although I plead guilty to a bit of uncle-pride, it's still a fact. My niece is a jewel. Two beauty queen titles, a college homecoming queen's title, and graduating from college in pre-med with a 3.8 GPA are just some of her particulars -- and this lovely creature was too terrified of the anti-American culture growing in France to leave the home of her patrons very often to scour Europe like she'd planned. She tried explaining it away to me as a college-age fad . . . fueled by a growing Muslim class.

But I was, am, and shall be for a long time ONE MAD F'ING UNCLE!

We're not a wealthy family . . . but we all ponied up enough cash so she would have enough money to do "almost" anything she wanted. Her baby sister -- six years younger, we lovingly call our "Oh My God" niece . . . even saved her waitress tips so her big sister would enjoy her stay. Everyone pitched in.

My niece is also the adventurous sort so don't think she's a coward. She's climbed some "rocks" as she calls them that look suspiciously like mountains to me. She carries a concealed weapon and, trust me, she's damn sure been trained to use it safely and properly if need be . . . and she has the mindset to do so without feeling guilty. My niece is no shrinking violet.

Yet she preferred to be a recluse rather than face the all-encompassing anti-Americanism that permeated the circles she was in.

This trip had been a life-long dream of hers.

She said she might've been able to "hide" being an American . . . HIDE!!!! . . . if it hadn't been for her Texan accent. Hide? Un-frickin-believable!

Guess when the last member of my family was in France?

The summer, fall, and winter of 1944-1945.

During two small little skirmishes called D-Day and The Battle of the Bulge.

My father served proudly. I suspect, were he alive today, he wouldn't do it again. Not in France.

Neither would I.
