I do plan on voting for Tancredo in the primary. I do hope and believe that the Congress will bury this proposal thus pulling GWB's hide out of the fire somewhat.
I don't blame anyone for going 3rd party over this issue. We still have that freedom. I've done it before. I just remember how I got cold feet in 2000. I swore I was going to vote for Buchanon but I realized that the state I live in was up for grabs and just couldn't let it go to Gore so I held my nose and voted for GWB. I have a feeling I'll be doing the same in 2004. If Bush looks like he's going to win in a landslide, I probably do a write-in or vote 3rd Party.
There is alot we can do at the state level to fight illegal immigration. Lets just wait and see what happens in the House. Maybe GWB will get the message.
Don't get me wrong, I do oppose this proposal.
My state (Vermont) always goes overwhelmingly Dem so I feel like I have the ability to do a 3rd party protest vote since even if I vote for Bush he won't take the state anyway.
And it's not like we have a huge pile of electoral votes, either - I think we just have 2 or 3.
If it were a close contest up here I'd vote Bush, but it highly likely that it will be a Dem landslide no matter what I do.
