I just wish the folks out in Western WA timber country knew that Osama Mama is NOT their friend! I take heart when I remember that Nethercutt is a giant killer, how many times has a sitting Speaker of the House been taken down by a challenger?

Nethercutt can beat the Osama Mama in Tennis Shoes if he concentrates on three issues: Terrorism, terrorism and terrorism.
Washington State is on the border, and had some terrorism scares as 01/01/00 got near. While voters in inner-city Seattle and Tacoma may not mind an extreme liberal, anti-anti-terrorism freak like Murray representing them, voters in the suburbs will likely return to their Republican roots and elect a grown-up to the Senate. And with Nethercutt's margins in Spokane and in the Cascades (much greater than a typical Republican got in the 1980s), it is clear that he does not need to get Reagan-style margins in King and Pierce Counties to beat Murray. We can win Washington State in the fall, both in the presidential race and the Senate race.

I also like the emphasis on Tort reform - the Seattle suburbs are seeing their Medical costs skyrocket because of Lawsuits.
