Think of it like this... What is your response to another persons problems when all of a sudden it's your ass on the line, i.e. Germany's...

From my perspective (from my limited base of knowledge) Germany was one of those countries terrorists used to plan and recruit in.

When it came time for Germany to throw in their lot with the US, they remained opposed. In this war on terrorism, there is no such thing as taking a neutral position... fence sitters will eventually fall off to one side or the other, if the threat of a serious threat of a terror attack causes them to fall off and get with the program, I say GOOD!

Germany invoked article 5 of the NATO charter. They are on the ground in Afghanistan as we speak. Boots on the ground means nothing to you? There are plenty of conservatives right here on this forum who don't believe making war on Saddam was the right thing to do nor do they believe it constitutes part of the war on terror.

Where did Mohammed Atta learn to fly planes? The USA is where. They train and recruit in our own country, does this mean you hope we get attacked again as well? There are a lot of radicals in Great Britain too. You want the Brits to get attacked?

I don't think you read the post correctly. The US bases in Germany would be a prime target for terrorists to attack. In fact, the American folks living and working on those bases probably have more to fear than the average German citizens.

My father had been stationed their twice and from what I can remember about those bases, it wouldn't be very hard for terrorists to actually achieve their objective.

Since when is Germany neutral on this?

Aren't there German troops in Afganisthan right now? Why are they there? For the entertainment?
