Jan. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Germany faces an ``immediate threat'' of terrorist attacks, the Welt am Sonntag newspaper said, citing a report by Western secret services.
Germany is ``within the spectrum of targets of Islamic terrorism and not just a retreat anymore'' for members of terrorist groups, the newspaper cited the report as saying.

"Saddam was never going to step down"
You may well be right... but the point is, you don't know, nobody does. One thing is for certain; had we had the support of G,F,& R i.e. the UN, SH would not have been embolden to stand and fight. And Yes, I have not much respect for G's efforts, because their efforts to stop the removal of SH has cost America dearly... do you know what it is called when a friend betrays you? Its called treachery. From whence the phrase, "with friends like that, who needs enemies". I hold firmly to my Good...

And Yes, I have not much respect for G's efforts, because their efforts to stop the removal of SH has cost America dearly... In what sense? If Germany and France hadn't said a word in opposition, we would still have gone in there. Soldiers still would have died. Soldiers would still be dying.
Germany has supported us in the war on terror. They continue to do so. End of story.
We didn't go to war with Iraq in 2003- the war began in 1990. It has not stopped ever since. Operation Iraqi Freedom was its final act.

Why?

Part of my family came from Germany before W.W.I -- that makes me part German too. But I'll tell you this, the Germans didn't act like friends when we started this war on terror. They were as anti-American as you can get and still not be french or AQ. The Germans, who we defended more than once, lacked honor when it was their turn to help. They acted like cowards, not friends. I'm sorry your family is there, and I'm sorry if they get hit. But why should America stand with Germany when Germany didn't stand with us? We owe Germans what Germans gave us. Figure it out yourself.

When did the war on terror begin?
The Germans, who we defended more than once, lacked honor when it was their turn to help. You're effectively saying that they are NOT in Afghanistan and that they are not helping in the war on terror? That they did NOT invoke Article 5 of the NATO charter?
It makes no sense what you're saying. You're confusing the recent row over Iraq with the overall war on terror. The war on terror began a couple years ago. The war in Iraq has been going on for quite a bit longer.
When you can convince all conservative Americans and Freepers that Iraq is part of the war on terror, then we can complain about how the Germans view it as being seperate.
when Germany didn't stand with us?
Germany did stand with us. Are they in Afghanistan right now or not. People have very short memories.

"Look... nobody here is wishing catastrophe on anyone."
Did I say they were?
"...the point is, Germany the Nation, the Government went way out of their way to block the US in removing the biggest threat to the security of the West, next to OSB."
A point you and I agree on.
"If the threat, of a serious threat of a terror attack, causes Germany to begin to see this war on terrorism from our perspective, I say GOOD!"
I'd say the same thing, but we have AMERICAN bases in Germany and we have AMERICAN targets in Germany as well. If the terrorists attack these AMERICAN bases and AMERICAN targets, how is that going to make the German government see our perspective on terrorism? It would take attacks on GERMAN targets to get them to open their eyes, not AMERICAN targets. Do you understand now?
I don't belong in France, Russia or Germany....perhaps you need a little time in a mental facility. Stick to the issue's and quit attacking those who are trying to get you to see the light!!!!!

Actually, I was going to send you a different kind of post but I'd rather behave like an adult and debate the issue without the name calling. Looks like you chose not to.

Nasty ,nasty is namecalling?
That's being just a little thin skinned don't you th'''... Wait a minute, are you a girl...?
To: Godfollow
Actually I am a grown woman....uh wait....does that threaten your male ego? I mean if you are indeed a male?
Don't worry about your injuries, they will heal in time and perhaps you could draw a lesson from this personal experience of yours. Understand what is exactly being said by the other person, before opening up your big trap. Now that wasn't so hard was it? Honestly, I have a son who is eleven and even he is not as bad as you.
Lesson over....time to move on!!!

Well, It really is kinda hard to explain, except to say that it began to feel like there was this Mars, Venus, guy, girl thing going on...
I said,"Good"...
You said (in so many words), "NOT Good"
I said, "maybe you should live in G,F or R"...
You said, "you need a little time in a mental facility"...
I said, "Nasty, nasty"...
You said, "Name caller"...
I made a rash assumption, for which I was excoriated... ouch!... and for which I do now apologize, and equated being thin skinned with being a girl...
I said, "like two ships passing in the night"...
You said, "like two ships crashing in the night"...
Ya can't get much more guy, girl than that... can ya?
Anyway, I understand your perspective and I respect it...
May we now part in peace, and if ever I see your name come up I will say Hi... KO, pectate?
P.S. By the way, what is "Arpeg"? You don't have to tell me, just curious... By

LOL....pretty funny Godfollow. I've met some people on FR who I have bumped up against, only to have the whole thing turn out to be good. You are one of those Freepers. I'm glad to be part of this community and I'm all the better for having the chance to debate, disagree and then like you. I too will keep an eye out for you and yes, we can part as friends.
Arpege is a perfume....yes, it's french too. I don't wear it anymore because it's french and I haven't looked into changing my freeper name. I'm not so sure I want to anyway.
See you around :-}
