Well there's a big difference between saying the NYT "deserves credit" or "deserves some credit" and saying they deserve high praises. Heh, I think summer and I were saying that the NYT performed above our very low expectations, that's all...at least for my part.
You mention "responsible journalists," which we see so few of, but it's also important to be a responsible critic, giving "credit" when something is done right, even if it should be the expected standard.

Good post. I think you understood my point, and I understand yours. The NYT performed above my very low expectations with this article, too, but they still have a lot to make up for. I doubt they can do it in my lifetime.
