With the long lead time it takes to develop the influenza inoculations for any given year, much of the vaccine's effectiveness is based on an educated guess about which strain will be most virulent during that particular flu season. This year, they guessed wrong.

This year, they guessed wrong. Well, when it comes down to it, the flu will just have to be taken care of by the body of an individual. I have no doubt that this mode of resistance to the flu will guarantee the existence of humankind.

How this is news is beyond me. It has been noted for months that this year's vaccine was ineffective for the strain of flu that appeared.
The real question ought to be why they ramped up the media to get people to take the ineffective vaccine.

As much as I despise the Left, and I despise them plenty as a freedom loving capitalist, the past couple years events, starting with Enron, have disillusioned me some.
It's not beyond imagining that a useless vaccine could be pushed on everyone by drug companies.
The only thing making me doubt it at all is my own GP's selling it, since I've known him for years, and trust the guy.
