"...don't have a shred of self-preservation" is also an interesting choice of phrase. I met a guy that had this attitude. He's still in charge, but he sold his soul. No character. No dignity. No faith. No foundation. But good times getting there, right? I mean, he's still in charge and all--but he's this souless creature masquerading as human.

As for blood of patriots blah blah blah: Well, half my family ran from the Brits while the other half was running after them. I guess I'm in a dilemma on how to answer.

Politics is the realm of the possible. NO president and no person is perfect. It isn't voting the lesser of two evils at all and there still ARE massive differences between the GOP and the Dems

My conservo-meter is my ability to read posts, comprehend the written English word, and my ability to separate those who have an inkling of what's actually at stake and those who don't; those who see reality as it is and those who live in some delusional world.

Children and Liberals talk about what's " FAIR " and what's not, they also want instant gratification ( though admittedly, Dems/Liberals, to some extent, are far less demanding of that immediacy, than the UNAPPEASABLE Conservatives are ! ),and don't ever bother to think about the consequences, the for REAL consequences of their actions.

Still fence sitting or off the fence completely ? Then ponder what some call " scare tactics ", but is just the simple truth....what IF President Bush isn't reelected and the GOP looses seats; then what ? Will everything that you rail about P:resident Bush get fixed to your liking ?

How wonderfully well did those " principled " votes for old crazy Ross ( or staying home, or a vote for someone else ) keep the people who caste them, in the throws of the Clinton presidency ?

What I'm talking about, is nothing at all, even remotely akin to your anecdotal little quip about some business guy.

And my self preservation bon mote, is in regards to the terrorism we shall continue to face...with or without President Bush at the helm of the ship of state.
