I do hate to say it, but I told ya so and a looooooooooong time ago. :-(

Thanks, Tex. You are eloquent and succinct. You don't mince words and you write plainly, as though you're talking to me. I like that.
You're so right. Arnold won and he won big. The self-proclaimed "base" went for McClintock. Because of Governor Arnold, CA is in play for Bush.

I can't see much difference between Bush's illegal immigration plan and the same old posturing we get from Democrats Then open your eyes a little more ..

Then open your eyes a little more .. See what I mean about the "debate"? I just make fun of them. It does no good to "debate" people who are using the issue being "debated" as a cover for a completely different agenda. Their problem is they are really not very good at obfuscation and ALWAYS over play their hand. Dang did you see that 3 dollar word I just used? Wow, I have to go to bed.

Since you asked, and in MHO, I don't think he has the elective chops yet. Neither does Condi Rice, but people are talking about her as a perfect foil for Hildebeast. Trouble is, appointees don't do very well with the public when they offer themselves as candidates to an elective office. Rahm Emmanuel <
barf!...'scuse me....> is one of the exceptions. Leon Panetta was a California congressman and as heavy as they come, before he became chief of staff to The Rapist, but he hasn't done anything since. Think of all the cabinet officers who've run -- Rumsfeld, Connally, Romney, Simon to name a few -- without substantial support.
People generally want a governor, a successful general, or a vice-president. Hence, if Cheney had to retire on medical from the VP spot, a good appointee/replacement would be Colin Powell, but his wife is a limitation: she has put her foot down on pursuing higher office. But if he ran this year as VP candidate, he'd be set up to run for the top job in '08, which is what I would prefer to see happen. He, no less than Condi, would be a good foil for Beastwoman, and hey, he might be nominated by acclamation at the 2008 convention if other candidates paled. Not that Castle Bush would like to leave anything as valuable as the nomination up to the delegates!

Bump for your post. The tagline on #619 tells why Bush is caving on national security. Big business has lost its morals.
Ironic, isn't it? American citizens have a microscope shoved up their butt while illegals are welcomed into "guest worker programs" with open arms.

Just keep right on, delusionally imagining this codswallop and crying in your beer, because you aren't getting what you DEMAND, without acknowledging reality in any way, shape, manner, or form. You and your ilk will become totally irrelevant, just as the PURISTS, did, in California's recall election/election. LOLSee you're still calling names with no argument. Bush made a mistake with the amnesty that shall not be called amnesty. 83% of the citizens of the respective states that were surveyed do not agree with the President on this issue. At least you're not using the 'one-issue' claim anymore. Considering there are so many to choose from now
If he loses in 2004, it is not because citizens of the respective states choose to vote for someone else. It was his job to keep or lose their vote. Based on his actions and valid posts here on this thread, he apparently will lose the vote of more than few.

Do you hope Bush wins or loses the election in 2004? Which Democrat best suits your needs to win in 2004 - Kerry, Dean, Clark, or Hillary? Please don't waste your time telling me there is not a difference. The Democrats stance on the United Nations and our sovereignty is a major difference. Please don't waste your time telling me you hope a 3rd party candidate can win when you know full well that is pure fantasy. Just tell me WHICH Democrat you expect to win in 2004.

I should take no offense to you telling me to 'kiss off'? And IF replied in kind you no doubt would hit the abuse 'button'..
Looking back to Reagan is an odd way to defend Bush. What Bush is proposing is indefensible. If you believe that the proposal is 'sensible' then you honestly haven't examined the issue.
