This is NO time for the pie in the sky, "GOD IS THE MORNING AND THE EVENING STAR " hustle of an Elmer Gantry, nor the huckstering of a Ross Perot, Pat Buchannan, or an Alan Keyes's race card/victimology scam. Bushbashing, for sport, as has been going on here for the past 5 years, is nolt only a waste of bandwidth, but futile, spurious, contemptable, and pointless in the extreme.

There are two major political parties. THERE IS FAR MORE THAN A DIME'S WORTH OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM ! Those who vote for a fringe parties' candidate, or write in someone NOT even running, or staying homwe, teaches NO lesson, except how stupid they are and how little they understand politics and what's at stake.

Politics is not a debating society and the way one votes has serious conseqauences! Do I approve'/agree with everything the president says/does ? Of course not!

Does my supporting him make me a " Bushbot ", a " RNC shill " ? Only to those who haven't brains enough to refute what I say with facts and a better, VIABLE solution to my support of re-electing him by as large a vote, as is humanly possible.

"These folks are NOT Conservatives and don't have a shred of self preservation in them."

And you know what else? They're not patriots. But BOY, are they principled!

I like what you write about measuring a man by his enemies.

onyx it is time for a little perspective on this thread. Here is the post by My2cents.

You've said well exactly what I think and feel. There was only one politician who ever brought a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes, and that was Ronald Reagan. But over the past 2-1/2 years, I've been moved many times by George W. Bush's sincerity, integrity, decency, love for this nation and what it stands for, for our place in the world as an example of freedom and goodness, and for his love for the men and women who defend our way of life. I guess I get emotional about Pres. Bush primarily because of the pain and suffering this nation went through on 9/11/01, and for the pain and hurt that still remains, and for Pres. Bush's stellar leadership during that time and since.

George W. Bush is the real deal, and by that I don't mean he's a "pure conservative." I mean he's the kind of leader who is truly anointed by God for his time and place in history (if you're willing to think in those terms), the kind of leader who comes around maybe once in a generation if we're so graced. Look at the leftists in Congress, the media, and in the general public. It would have been easy for this nation to roll over after 9/11 into a fetal position and question ourselves in a stupor of self-doubt and guilt. The fact we didn't is due solely to George W. Bush. I respect this man above all others on the political scene. He is a giant while everyone else is a pigmy. And I'm not ashamed to say that I also love this man for his character and qualities. Those who attack him, whether from the left or right, and the manner in which they attack him for the reasons they express, are, IMHO, beneath contempt.

How conservative are you? Are you secular conservative? Religious conservative? Libertarian? Hamiltonian? Adamsian? Jeffersonian? Do you accept the precepts of Roosevelt's progressive reforms? Are you a Nixonite social-architect?

If Dean was a Republican running the same campaign and Bush was a Dem, would you vote for Dean or Bush?

I agree that a third party is a vote splitter. But if the Dems go full-throttle socialist, then they effectively become obsolete. Would you vote straight newGOP or a future new conservative party?

Just an academic exercise, thats all.

"Our respect for our constitutional principles is what makes us different from the rest of the world. When we lose that, we're finished."

You think giving documentation to illegals is a constitutional issue? You're more clueless than I thought. I'll bet you think there's a right to privacy in the constitution, too.

Just an academic exercise, thats all.

That's the whole point; it's ALL an academic exercise to you all since you've never been able to get anybody in office to put all your grand ideas to the test.

All talk.

I wonder what a "future new conservative party" is. Is it that thing that they had in that hotel room with the big riot? :-)

Good enough answer for me. Ladies and gentlemen: I'm heading to sleep. Have a great time arguing until dawn. Still love that Impotent Post back in the 200's -- I think. Still laughing.
