Good evening onyx, President Bush fired his broadside today and he will be playing offence from here on til the election. It's going to be a wild ride, the dims are desperate.

Good to see you woody. It's been a joyful day. Judge Pickering and the SC refusing to entertain the RATS complaint about Texas's redistricting. I'm so very proud of POTUS and grateful beyond words that we have him.

"Give me a freaking break. Supporters? Man you can't kid and old kidder. At least be man enough to go up against him without the drama queen fake outrage. You are LOVING this."

Yeah, I'm "LOVING" this.

I'm "loving" the way this President does all the right things in Afghanistan and Iraq; Scaring the sh*t out of Libya, N. Korea, and Iran; Telling the UN, France and Germany to shove it --BUT he won't tell Teddy Kennedy to shove it; OR Vincente Fox to shove it; OR send the illegal invaders of our borders packing.

He's an enigma of sorts -- Apparently, the further Dubya is from the U.S., the bigger his balls are. Domestically, it's another story.

"...That is simple Conservative values. Anything to the Left of that is Liberal. What does that tell you about not only Bush but many of the Republicans here on this site?.."

It tells me that you don't know what a conservative is. Yep, you've got some of it down, but as a "centrist" you're missing something. Conservatives aren't about limiting foreign involvement when it comes to defense, buddy boy. And tax cuts? Gimme a break. Small government is one I have to give you, but Bush has always let congress run the domestic policy, for the most part. I wish he'd buy a veto pen, but he let's them do their thing, and signs on the dotted line. Complain to your congressman. But there's more to being conservative, which Bush follows. Anti-abortion, Christian, honest, etc.

Ignorant is someone who uses spin and insults and thinks they can win on that basis.

Look the quote by you was not in italics or in quotes. It appeared to be her statement. Don't get in a snit. Yes when I screw up I admit it. That wasn't one of those times.

Amnesty is not what's being offered. It's a limited form of documentation for those who are already working here.

It's a legalization of Illegals, with a blue card before the green card, before citizenship.

Reagan 's Amnesty differed in that it had one less card, and didn't require a "one-time fee."

The Bush Amnesty is just another Amnesty, with a few differences. The result is the same: Illegals are legalized and rewarded for their lawbreaking.

You make the statement about your ex to give your posts some horsepower, then when we refute them and say we know some agents, you tell us not to talk to you anymore.

It doesn't work that way here. I am free to counter your arguments all I want as long as I'm not abusive or make personal attacks.

What socialism are you talking about here?

If that's a serious question, I'm glad to see you back with us Mr. Rumplestilskin.

While you were asleep Mr. Bush has pissed away more money on garbage liberal programs than the creator of the "Great Society", who was considered one of the smarmyest socialists on earth.

Now go hit yourself in the head with a hammer and go back to sleep.

I think its all well and good to debate conservative ideals -- I just have ZERO comprehension of "conservatives" that are gleefully advocating the defeat of George Bush in 2004 so that he can be replaced with one the most radical liberal/socialists that have ever seriously been considered by a major party.

To me -- its utterly confusing. Knowing full well that the alternative is 180 degrees and a thousands miles opposite of every conservative ideal.

I can understand it when one conservative is running against another in a primary -- we want the most conservative with the best chance of winning. I don't understand it now -- especially in the last election when the vote came down to 800 people.

I will NEVER agree with anyone here that says I should stand on principle over one issue or another. I want the BEST, LEAST HARMFUL guy in office and then the search can begin anew in 2008.

He's an enigma of sorts

Do you mean like this?

The Bush Enigma
How then can one explain George w. Bush, the man on whom so many Americans placed such great hope? All we can say is that there are several theories to choose from, all of which fall in the realm of speculation.

One theory holds that he is a good man with fine instincts and excellent intentions, but is such a hater of confrontation that he has effectively been steamrolled by the non-conservatives who surround him.

Another theory holds that he was never a real conservative in the first place, but i8 a very capable orator who can read a good speech and produce a convincing image. The United Republicans of Texas published such a view in 1998, after having experienced all of the years that George w. Bush governed their state.(37)

One individual who shares the view that Mr. Bush's political effect has never been conservative is Thomas Gale Moore of Stanford University's Hoover Institution. In a syndicated column appearing in May 1998, (38) he discussed the much-publicized Bush plans to cut spending and reduce bureaucratic regulation. But Mr. Moore then cautioned:

Skeptics find President Bush's record as governor, often alluded to during the campaign, far from reassuring, especially since he used much the same rhetoric during his gubernatorial campaigns as appeared later during his campaign for the presidency.

While in Austin, raised sales taxes, and sharply increased taxes on business.

While he was in office, Texas government expenditures increased faster than was typical of other states. Notwithstanding his campaign rhetoric, welfare expenditures alone escalated 61 percent in real terms during his two terms as governor.

That is hardly a record that should merit the label "conservative."
