Oh, granted. Hence why I knit socks, hats, scarves, and blankets for my family and friends.

Claiming that it's cheaper to knit it, however, is a fallacy as a general rule. I've got ten dollars invested in just the yarn for one pair of socks so far - and I might need a little more... yet I can buy socks elsewhere. That's more what I meant. :)

But it's more fun to knit it - and you've got something unusual that nobody else has, which came from your own originality.

I don't think I even want to know how much money I have tied up in yarn.

And trying to figure out how to buy more for this curtain project. I refuse to put less than 4 times the needed warp length on so I can have fun experimenting and making other things besides the project before I have to change warps.
