I think the most amazing one was the Shuttle explosion last year. It changed from a celebration to a tragedy in a matter of minutes. It was an amazing thread.

Indeed. I remember that one as well, though I did not see it until later (my dad woke me up from my usual sleeping in and said "The shuttle has exploded."

Having been a participant in that thread... yes... that was a bad day.
The accident analysis thread that I started reached over 4500 posts I think and we were consistently ahead of CAIB and the general media.
