Rush Limbaugh Certified FReeper!
EIB - Rush Limbaugh Show
| Rush Limbaugh
Posted on 01/16/2004 11:53:24 AM PST by MindBender26
In 3d hour of today's Limbaugh show, Rush was referring to a newspaper article from California. Was having a little trouble remembering some mundane details of the story and remarked "I'm having a little trouble remembering all the details of the story. I got it off Free Republic this morning!"
Rumors confirmed. We are the premier Conservative research source in the nation.
and.... welcome Rush.
PS, If Rush reads this, I know who has your Grandfather's first set of law books, along with a letter from Westlaw congratulating him on opening his practice, etc.
He would be glad to send you letter, copy, etc.

I knew long ago that RUSH was on FR by commentaries that clearly picked up on the best of FR threads.
I'm not at all surprised, FR is a wealth of info and insight on current events and RUSH is the ultimate research master in today's media.

Granted Hugh (no pun intended) can be a bit sophmoric at times - believe me it did get under my skin at first. His lighter moments do, however, keep subjects from getting too deep. At times, we just need to lighten up and not take things so seriously... like spending a half-hour with David Allen White and Shakespeare. Rush is no different when he gets going on football and cigars. But, don't get me wrong... Rush is the best at what he does. So good and so unique that when he goes, nothing will be able to fill the void. What Hugh brings to talk radio, and the Right side of the debate, is his own brand of unique dialogue. He's quick, bright, and right. No one else links together the power of internet dialogue and the blogosphere, with an entirely new generation of alternative news commentary, political analysts, congressional insight, debate, civics, history, poetry, literature, religion, and neo-pop culture fusing it all into a meaningful perspective of our culture as it should be. Regardless of your opinion of him, he sets the precedent for a talk radio format beyond Rush. And he can hammer the opposition just as seriesly. I wouldn't write him off too quickly. For a shock-jock he's okay!

I wonder if Rush ever posts... Probably, but his observations are probably pithy and to-the-point, with a dose of wit thrown in. OK, I give. You found me out.

In the past I've posted RealAudio clips where he *really* 'poked' at FR ... off and on he's always made comments like "that'll get the Freepers going" (paraprasing) ... Remember the "average Freeper" composite picture he posted at rushlimbaugh.com? It was pretty funny, though there were a few much better ones on a thread here.

His handle should be Russ Limbaugh. For the longest time callers kept calling him Russ.
Hey Russ, how goes it?

You should offer those (Rush's Grandfather's)
law books up on eBay. Rush has such a reverence for his Grandfather, and has done so much for this Country, I thought it best to direct them to where he might want them to go.

That's the reason this is my favorite site. You get the Breaking News and all the news here first. Totally. It's been proven again and again.

I happen to listen to the radio driving to and from work which takes about an hour. During my final effort of listening to his program, he actually spent a solid 45 minutes goofing around with his program director-- and this was on a fairly good news day!!! This is not that exceptional for him. It used to infuriate me when he spent the first fifteem minutes "warming up" but it became longer and longer amd more and more tedious. This is unfortunate because as I said, I was once a huge fan of his program (telling all my friends to tune-in). But it has
seriously gone dowhnill since that first year.
He acts as though he is somehow cute and that his audience relishes his monologues and quips on "Mini-so-cold" ice-fishing, hockey games, marathons (reminding us of his athleticism), jet ski mishaps, etc. He continues treating his audience like fawning adolescents, like groupies, and it is very insulting..
Your other point about the guests he manages to get in between this sophmoric jocularity is well-taken. But he has become a colossal bore who can't help but talk on-and-on about HIMSELF.
This obnoxious "ME-itis", "I'm so special" is less-evident on other programs. Sports-talk is far preferrable.

That's the forum where a lot of people banned from FR have congregated. I popped over there out of boredom one day.

It wasn't long ago that Rush read a post by fellow FReeper Congressman Billybob word for word on his show, and the link at the bottom of the page on his website linked to the article by Congressman Billybob at freerepublic.com . :)

I found my way here by word of mouth from a FReeper I met in the old days of the MSNBC Opinion Board (which no longer exists).
