Okay here is my advice. I have had exercise equipment up the wazooooo and after a few months it ended up collecting dust. I have joined a gym but used every excuse (cough cough sneeze sneeze) NOT TO GO! I am now walking 6 miles a day (3 to work and 3 back home) and have lost so much weight I had to buy all new clothes. Walking is the best natural exercise there is - it doesn't put any strain on the body and you don't have to pay for it (IT'S FREE). Start a walking routine and then graduate to speed walking a little. You will find yourself feeling wonderful and alive!!

I agree walking works. It's all a matter of calories: walking for 1 hour is, all things considered, less effective than running for 1 hour. I'm not a runner, but I've seen the evidence. If people have limited time, and their legs can take it, I'd always recommend running. My legs no longer are that spry.
