Some authors are must reads - JH2 is one of them...

Indeed!

As is OldFriend's marvelous 1/16/2004 Quote of the Day that JH2 references above and which I quote here for posterity:

The first time Kennedy complained that President Bush didn't have an exit strategy for Iraq I called his office and asked if he had an exit strategy for Mary Jo when he shoved his car off the bridge with her in it.

The aide was not amused. ~OldFriend

ROTFLMAO!

I will be thinking of that quote every time I have to see ol' Kennedy's face on TV. LOL!

I was living in Dublin in 1964 when Ted came to the city. The nurses that I worked with asked me if I was going to go see him, and my (unspoken) reaction was,"why would I do that? I lived in Baltimore, and could have gone to DC any day to see him if I had wanted to." They lined the streets in Dublin to watch him enter the hotel, etc. Just because he was the slain president's brother. He has been living on that notoriety ever since. He just turns my stomach!
