I'm beginning to think that Karl Rove is overly influenced by the big donors. The rank and file tend to be pro-life, but many big donors are pro-abort--so Karl Rove supports pro-abort candidates in California and elsewhere. The rank and file are anti-illegal immigrants, but the big donors want cheap labor--so Karl Rove supports illegal immigration.
It's hard to see why else Bush would be doing this. It's not good for the country, and it's not smart politics as far as getting votes is concerned. Maybe it's big money.

No doubt about that. Karl Rove and President Bush totally missed the boat. They do not seem to understand this is really the one issue (and abortion) that can split the party, and dillute the base from turning out in November. I mean one only has to tune into talk radio a few times a month to realize what people are sick and tired of, and that is footing the bill for illegals.

it's not smart politics as far as getting votes is concernedThink about what would happen if the Democrat presidential candidate came out for enforcement of the borders. He would have a great chance of winning.

Rove is evil.
That W. listens to him shows that W. is morally obtuse.
