And now a MicroSoft bot like yourself is sticking up for Sun and Apple?

I stick up for all US tech companies, when they start facing foreign born alternatives like Linux that steal their business and technology from them. Whenever I have a call of what software I or we will use, it will always be of American origin, and is not always M$. But just like I drive an American truck and don't invest in foreign funds, I will support our country with each and every decision possible. You may not agree with that, but I certainly won't be apologizing for it, either.

Considering the number of American software companies outsourcing to India, and that you will never know which piece of software or how much was written in the U.S., you could just look through the source of Linux, pick out the number of American contributions and decide that Linux is more American that "American" software.

Oh wait, nevermind, you said that Linux is a foreign product. No, you said we are giving away our trade secrets with Linux so it must be an American product. No, you said Linux was the "Finnish virus." I'm confused now. Which is it?

Hmmm. Do you find it against your principles to continually post on a site like Free Republic, which runs on Linux?

You seem to be under the impression that MS, IBM, Oracle, Sun are patriotic flag-waving American companies and the friends of the common citizen. The fact is that they are spread across the globe, and outsource jobs and capital at the drop of a quarterly earnings statement. I prefer to reserve my loyalty to people and business that might actually reciprocate.

We've had this discussion far too many times, and your arguments continue to be refuted. To suggest that Linux is destroying companies and is the death of US high tech is ludicrous. Yes, the "dinosaurs" who depend entirely upon overpriced, proprietary platforms for their revenues are getting their heads handed to them. This is NOTHING NEW, and anyone who has been around this industry for a while knows that you adapt or die. Fact. Can't tell you how many proprietary systems companies I've worked for who are either gone or mere shadows of their former selves. I now work in worldwide marketing for one significant product line for one of those Big Guys, and we're absolutely kicking a** in the marketplace. Linux enabled that.

How many more economics lessons are you and your ilk going to need???
