Eagleton was a senator from Missouri and George McGovern's choice for VP in 1972. After the story came out, McGovern said he was behind him "1,000 Percent". He dropped him from the ticket 4 days later. Sergeant Shriver then became McGovern's running mate. Both lost to Nixon, 49-1.

Dean said. "To suddenly get told that you have responsibility for 600,000 people it provokes a little anxiety."
How many people are in the United States. 270 million? 300 million? If 600,000 rattles him what will hundreds of million do?

one can only imagine how he would have reacted if he were the POTUS on 9/11. Can you imagine if he had to visit the site in NYC and stand on the firetruck like Bush did? He would be screaming HELP!! GET ME DOWN FROM HERE!!!

Gee. Who could have leaked this? Hillary really knows how to disembowel an opponent with one swipe of her talons, doesn't she?

And this is the guy who says President Bush needs psychotherapy? Physician, heal thyself!

He better stop that or he won't be good to anybody.

Real presidential material here. This is scary. As I read this, my jaw dropped open. I looked closely to see if the article was intended a parody. Apparently not.
This is it for Dean. I now do not beleive he will be nominated.

Who fed that "People Magazine" reporter those questions? She set Dean up with some soft ones about meeting his to be wife and later got him to admit to anxiety attacks, counseling and taking medication!
Hillary's people are vverrryy good.

"And of course, we talked a lot about my father and all that other stuff."
And of course there's an elephant in his parlor.

Sergeant Shriver then became McGovern's running mate. It should be further footnoted that this is the same Sargent Shriver who is now the father in law of the current governor of California. Getting Sarge and his wife Eunice (sister of JFK, RFK, and Teddy) to stand on a stage and cheer the results of the recall election is one of the things I love Arnie for!

The panic attack was understandable, Dean said. "To suddenly get told that you have responsibility for 600,000 people it provokes a little anxiety." You know, Governor, you were responsible for only one person, yourself. The other 599,999 can take care of themselves.

Would Easley run as Hillary's VP?
I really think the Clintons are trying to knock off every candidate before they get too much momentum. It is just too risky for her to wait until 2008, if there is any way she can win in 2004. But she is so polarizing, her only chance is with a running mate that is either a) respected military b) respected independent/outsider c) conservative Southern. Although I don't buy into the theory that she is so power hungry that she would never accept the VP spot(since serving as VP would give her access to potentially 16 years of power, not just 8), if they can shoot down everybody, including Edwards, to get a brokered convention, then that's their first choice.
a) respected military - a few, but no obvious slam-dunk names jump out
b) respected independent/outsider - Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos types, but still a long-shot
c) Southern Dem govenors - most likely, but only Early and Easley fit the bill. (And Bill Richardson probably doesn't bring in enough swing Hispanics to get her over the top, either.)
Hence my question.

Or going dark and landing in a war zone,to avoid having your aircraft shot down. There have to be Democrat consultants tearing out their hair about now. There is no way to spin Dean's anxiety attacks as an acceptable characteristic in a candidate for President. It's obvious that Dean has "anger issues " and in a Republican,it would be a mortal wound. But,fortunately we are dealing with Democrat primary voters and this will probably add to his allure. We hope.
