WE WERE DUPED AND WE ARE ABSOLUTELY AT THE MERCY OF A PRESIDENT THAT CARES NOT WHAT THE PEOPLE THINK

Ziporrah, I really don't think we conservatives were duped when we voted for Bush in 2000. We knew that he would be "moderate-to-liberal." It's not a surprise. We may have kidded ourselves, but we knew that his conservatism had strict limits, mostly tax cuts that did not affect everyone and a partial-birth abortion ban, which may or may not limit abortions in the long run. Of course, we thought he did a commendable job after 9-11, but the bloom is off the rose for many of us now. Some may actually vote for a minor candidate in the Republican primaries, but most will still hold their noses and vote for Bush in the fall. After all, old habits are hard to break! We've been voting for Bushes now since 1980, hoping against hope that it will "make a difference."

Well I certainly was duped. I honestly was under the false impression that Bush was a conservative.. probably because of his claims of being a Christian. What I should've realized that he would follow in his father's footsteps.

The bloom is certainly off the rose. I WILL not vote for Bush ..as some will do. The hope that it will make a difference ..certainly came to pass but I doubt that conservatives would be looking at policies that would make such a 'difference' that our country would be put at risk. Our eyes are fixed on terrorism.. and compared to what lies ahead due to Bush's reckless immigration proposal is minuscule in comparision to the risk of an attack by terrorists.
