These kids have been beaten into shape through the K-12 system and know better than to say anything untoward—or even to think it. The University, far from opening their minds and encouraging critical thinking, normally simply repeats the orthodoxies.

The author is unfortunately correct. What we have in this country today in the gubmint skoolz is indoctrination disguised as education, with a tiny bit of education thrown in. That indoctrination is almost invariable leftist and PC as the author points out. If we are going to save our nation, Constitution and culture this needs to be turned around, quickly.

It is instructive to muse on the fact the largest single group of delegates to the Democrat National Convention comes from the NEA and other teachers unions. And we know the type of people these delegates support!

There is also a renewed interest in classical education on the grammar and high school level.

Disclaimer: I'm on the faculty.

Hey Joe, I checked out the Yorktown site and my net access isn't compatible with their Izid system of online teaching. Meaning, I can't play the audio. But the whole concept of an online university which teaches conservative principles, is super. Good luck to you all in this endeavor.

Here is the website of an organization for classical Christian schools:

http://www.accsedu.org/

We have a fairly new classical public charter in my state (junior great books curriculum), a new classical Christian school that opened this past fall (and will offer classes to homeschoolers, as well as full-time students), and a Christian classical school that has been in operation for years.

A new classical charter school just opened in St. Paul (Nova Academy), MN, and there is the Ridgeview Classical Schools which is a public school charter in CO.

They're are popping up all over the country, because a lot of parents are not happy with progressive education.

"They are," not "they're are."

I'm surprised it hasn't received more press (well, not really).

Here is another site I find interesting -- homeschooling parents getting together and starting their own "school."
