Conrad Black has no intention of making good on his pledge to begin paying back millions in fees to Hollinger International, The Post has learned.

Black, the ousted head of newspaper giant Hollinger, has indicated to the company that he will not make a payment of $850,000 that is due Jan. 19, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Black's lawyer, John Warden, has said that new information has come to light that could indicate Black may not have to pay the money back. That explanation outraged Hollinger International execs, as well as Richard Breeden, the former SEC commissioner who is heading a special committee that is probing Hollinger's finances.

Whoa. Better not mess with Breeden.
