We had a border collie for 12 years. She did fine in the house, although she herded anything that moved. Loved it when the kids played soccer - she tried to herd the ball. The one time we tried to have her bred, she refused - there were cows nearby, and she was more interested in working them.

If someone wants to own a border collie, they need to understand that intensity. Wonderful dogs...if the AKC doesn't ruin them!

I think they are well on their way...the ones I see at shows look like Aussies with tails. They ones doing agility look like (and act like) they are supposed to! Nothing againsts Aussies, though; we have two!
