This so angers me, it is within their powers to do anything and if this kid has a record a mile long, they can pick him up and hold him for 24 hours while they are investigating the crime. What are they gonna wait till something bad happens????

In a word? Yes.

As much as I hate to be the one to tell you, LEOs are not obligated to protect the individual. This is why I always say it is a good idea to arm yourself.

As for you, commish, as much as I hate to say it, I would find another place to live that is if not in another part of the state then in another state altogether.

If this is your typical gang then chances are quite good they will go after him and not care who gets in the crossfire. And this of course means you should assume your entire family is in grave danger.

Contracts with Police Dept's typically spell out protection of property owned by the city period. They have no known duty to protect private people. 911 is a bad joke and should be used for ambulance or other medical emergencies only. They are typically set up by police and sheriff dept's. so that PO or SO can intervene and possibly drum up bidness for the courts. They are literally ambulance chasers and as a whole not to be trusted as they are all engaged in an assessable security scheme with the courts and BAR attorney's and at best are unwitting dupes for a promise of a fat pension of the backs of the people. And remove the 'WELCOME' MAT OFF OF YOUR FRONT PORCH ! ! OPEN INVITATION FOR POLICE OR ANYONE ELSE TO WALK RIGHT IN. [TAUGHT IN LAPD TRAINING.]
