To: An American In Dairyland
That's good to know. I just saw knew of it as southern CA, and I have a certain mental image of southern CA.

How long since your father lived there? Has Orange County by any chance shifted from being more farming/rural, to being more subdivisions, etc.? If so, maybe the "rednecks" have given way to yuppies. For the sake of the longtime residents there, I hope not.

My father lived in Orange County until his death in 2000. My best friend still lives there and she mentioned recently that she feels as though she's the only liberal living there so I don't think Orange County has changed dramatically since then.
