The FOX affiliates seem more interested in showing reruns of The Simpsons opposite the Alphabet Networks' news.

It would be good to see them get something on the broadcast channel (I don't have cable and so I don't subsidize Time-Warner-CNN, SeeBS-Viacom-MTV, ABCDisney, etc.). There is the occassional "FoxNews" story that makes it to the local Fox affiliate's 1 hour nightly news broadcast (9PM-10PM). An hour of news but nearly 30 minutes are sports, entertainment, and fluff.

Our local Fox affil here in Nashville does a good newscast at 9pm (Central), but as with all affiliate newscasts, it's a smattering of car crashes, apartment fires, police scandals and the doings of country music celebrities...in addition to the national news. When FOX adds a third hour of primetime programming, it will be interesting to see how they do head-to-head with the other locals.

Living in Nashville is generally great, but when some country celeb kicks the wooden bucket, it's THE big item in all the TV newscasts for 10 days. It's amazing how they can stretch one death into ten days of stories. You'd think the Pope had crossed over. Fox is no different.
