Thanks for posting this thread. I agree completely that Bush is making a horrific mistake. I am working on the S.O.S. (Save Our State) petition here in California--a State constitutional amendment denying welfare, drivers licenses, etc. to illegal aliens-- and many Republicans who are siging it are disgusted with Bush's decision regarding illegal aliens.

I agree with you that Bush is making a horrific mistake. I am working overseas right now and, from where I stand, this is just an unbelievably horrible move by Bush and the Republican leadership. They are panderers surrendering their principles. What ARE they thinking??

And, judging from the personal email I have received over the past several days from my friends back home, there are plenty of other mainstream Republicans who are outraged about this, too.
