This will occasion more cynical, hypocritical and disingenuous attacks by the 'Rats and other assorted seditionists and jackboot lickers.

They're already claiming that the June 30 date for transfer of sovereignty is an evil plan by Bush and Blair to abandon Iraq to civil war just to get the troops home in time for elections. (E.g. the ever execrable Eric Margolis here.) Of course the fact that this date was set in deference to the U.N., France, and screeching demands from the same leftists leftists concocting the conspiracy theories, will forthwith be studiously suppressed by the press.
