These things are not directly related to the war, but because so many are willing to cede my freedom for their 'safety', who knows what else will be taken from us.

Agreed, they have nothing to do with the war so evidently the answer to the question I posed to you was answered by constructing a strawman argument.

As far as the strawman goes, I agree, CFR is unconstitutional and profligate spending unrelated to defense is extra constitutuional.

I apologize. No strawman intended so let's just burn him right now. I've been going with only a few hours sleep per night for the past week and I confused the context because we each mentioned 'war'.

I don't like some of the things that have been done in the name of fighting terorism, but as yet there are no documented cases of rights being stripped away although the groundwork is being laid for a future despot.

When I mentioned the "war on our wallets and rights", I was referring to the separate issue of increased spending and the violation of the 1st Amendment (amongst others). Two separate wars (or maybe not) running side by side. No wonder I get confused.
