FR has some of the smartest, funniest, insightful, and politically aware people in the country. The discourse here is like nothing you would find on liberal board. Bush's plan is just that, a plan! Its not a law. It is to be debated and then sent to the legislature. Im surprised so many posters are ignoring this fact! It can be stopped without allowing Dean in. C'mon people! I dont like this plan, either. Nor do I like that Kennedy Education foolishness. But politics are about compromise. A true liberal or conservative has to make too many deals to attain the leadership positions in this country. Thats just the way it is. Like Bill Clinton was forced to the center, so has Bush. And before you start with the Constitution party or the Libertatrians, rememebr that they too, will have to compromise. There is no such thing as a true blue conservative in the oval office; they have to make too many deals to get there. Im not willing to let Dean or Clark, or worse, Hillary in over this..
