I wish every one of these intellectual midgets who delight in giving George Bush a hard time would do this little exercise.
Tomorrow morning when you wake up and grab a cup of coffee and turn on the news channel, pretend it's the morning of 11th of September 2001. Pretend that, of the three planes involved, one had successfully hit and destroyed the White House while the other two each had hit and destroyed seperate wings of the Capitol Building.
It's not too much to imagine. It could have very easily occured.
Now, dammit, you understand what motivates your President!

and if I remember correctly he had a senate for maybe half of his eight years. Six of those 8 years(80-86). In 87 he nominated Bork and Kennedy borked him.

We like Bush because he's a decent man and a strong wartime leader. If he'd just exert the same principles in his domestic policies there wouldn't be any of this beef here on FR. Get a clue! Sorry. I don't believe you. You've been trashing Bush since he was inaugurated. You knew good and well that Bush was not a screaming right-winger; he's largely done what he said he was going to do.
You talk about principles when you trash a president who's doing exactly what he said he would do?

"So what is the alternative my friends? A Democrat who is going to tax you to death, sell our national security to the UN and Europe. Please think very hard about this."
Believe me, I would love an alternative.
But if someone (us) doesn't teach the RNC that they CANNOT take us for granted, then this is all we will ever get. They will trot us out for our vote on Election day and then run right back to the cat box to get dirty with the Dems.
To hell with that and to hell with them.

Have fun with a Dean, Clark, or Gephardt as the Commander in Chief with a hot line to the UN to get Kofi's permission.
Yeah...that's scarey. A Dem President dedicated to Nation Building as opposed to a Republican President dedicated to Nation Building.
How is a liberal Dem foreign policy worse than a neo con Rep foreign policy? There's not much difference between the two domestically?

His supporters, within this forum and without. They have this whacked mentality, nearly to a person, where they savage anyone who disagrees with their precious "with us or against us" semi-god. You can't even have a converstation with them.
I would never vote for a Dem, but I won't throw my lot in with a bunch of demented, unintelligent personality cultist tards.
Amen brother, these jackasses have done more to drive me away from Bush than they have to make me stick behind him.
Call me an idiot if you want to, but you'll need this idiot's vote on Election day. Keep up your name calling and the whitehouse will be Democratic again in the not too distant future.

Unbelievable. Just plain unbelievable some of the posts on this thread. ITS A PLAN! NOT A LAW!! Kill it in the legislature! I cant believe anyone who calls them self a conservative would even consider letting one of those nine loons in! But I guess the saying is right; politics makes for some strange bedfellows. We have people here claiming to be Conservatives allying themselves with hardcore liberals over this. Because thats what you are doing when you use your vote as weapon. And thses same people will be ranting and raving when Hillary makes healthcare policy and her husband is appointed SECSTATE...

You're an idiot who can only respond to criticism by accusing people of wanting to turn the country over to Dean. No wonder you like Howlin.

You are definitely wrong. I not only voted for Bush in 2000, I flew to Nashville to Freep Gore's HQ. I also promised I would be at the inauguration - either to protest Gore or celebrate Bush. I was there celebrating in the rain.
Now, however, I have called the White House, my Senators and Congressmen to tell them I will not vote Republican this election. They have been given a unique opportunity - an all Republican government and have sold us out.
Most of the good Bush has done can be easily undone. The bad is going to be difficult if not impossible to undo. I am referring to "campaign finance reform,' (violation of the first amendment), medicare reform (new entitlement), and most of all illegal alien amnesty plus just plainly not enforcing our borders. This administration is cheapening American citizenship. How long will it be before many Americans are unwilling to risk death by serving their country? What will they be risking death for?
I've served and I tell you I don't think I would join today.

I haven't gone out of my way to ignore you. I actually happen to like you when we're not talking about this one subject.
You're entitled to your opinion, even if it's wrong. You don't have to be so damn ugly about it.
I know that you feel differently, but to me he's done some very ugly and selfish things that my descendents will pay dearly for.
I almost was arrested for GW in 2000 and I fought a war for the country he's now plundering. We're just see things from completely different perspectives is all.
