I agree with you on all points. I am thoroughly disgusted with the way this has played out so far.

"When are we suppose to have a check handed to us. I am beginning to wonder if they are going renege (sp) on that also."

Check's in the mail (and received):

Charles Doerksen presenting a copy of the check to Jim Robinson.

Thank you. That motorhome tour is kind of an insider joke that is getting a lot of extra mileage.

Best wishes from an old-timer. I hear you're going to be touring the country in that Winnebago -- we'd like to see you.

How about this:

Dear Fresnobee people,
The difference between Free Republic and your paper is that most Free Republic participants know what prevent children form doing.

1) Children may not play with guns.
2) Children may not drive cars.
3) Children, pretending to be adults, may not write articles or commentary containing hate speech for newspapers. Even if they do write such articles an adult will say "thanks" and hang it on the refrigerator with a magnet where it will stay just for the family. It certainly would not be published in a public newspaper.

Regards
John S.

"They were totally out of control," Robinson said. "They need to get some adults over there."

With the liberal Democrats, whether it's the Clinton White House or the Dean campaign, or nearly anything else they nose their way into, there always seems to be a distinct lack of adult supervision.

Glad to finally read your response to the Fresno Bee article. I thought this is what happened, but didn't see these posts until just now. What can we expect from the liberal media around here! Figures. I also think that the rest of the media is at fault along with the city if they haven't released the agreed to retraction. The press was more than happy to jump out there immediately when the HRC sent out their release. They were there with reporters and cameras that very night, and at the picnic. Dead silence now from them! Gee, I wonder if they are biased? :-)

Can someone please tell me why the City of Fresno NEEDS a Human Relations Commission?

What I heard the former mayor state is that several years ago, the city was having problems in the Hmong community with rival gangs, and they were set up to mediate those problems and bring the citizen's closer together. I see they have accomplished this. Right!!!! Once something like this is set up, they tend to stay part of the bureaucracy forever in spite of the fact that their stated mission is far from the activities they are engaged in.
